"Zip-a-dee-doo-dah...

... Zip-a-dee-ay!
My-oh-My- What a WONDERFUL Day...
Plenty of Sunshine heading my way~
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah...
Zip-a-dee-ay!!!"

-Ray Gilbert (from Disney's movie Song of the South)

And what a wonderful day it has started out to be...

I had the pleasure of looking thru this book while having my morning coffee...

I just received the book in the mail yesterday from Tracey at French Larkspur (you too, can order it from here- The only place it's available in the U.S.).  Thanks, Tracey for the super-fast shipping and the oh-so-wonderful way you always package everything up!!!

Please visit Tracey's blog here to read (and peak in) about this beautiful book, Romantiska Hem & Inspiration i Vitt (Romantic Home & Inspiration in White) from Sweden.  It was written by Ingela Broling and Petra Erikson.  Petra too, has a wonderful blog to check out-  Ramantiska Hem!  You can go there by clicking the link under the photo above...

Thank you for a wonderful start to my day... Just like the song says... There is lots of sunshine heading my way!  The temps will be low (high 40s), but hey, I'll take the sun over clouds any day!!!

By the way, hope you enjoyed the lyrics to "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah"... Whenever I hear this song, it brings a smile to my face, as my dear grandpa always sang it to me as a child.

Hop you are having a sunshine filled day and have a smile on your face... Remember, it's contagious!;)

Thrift Store Treasures!

Hello!  Woke up this morning and headed out to Starbuck's for some coffee and FREE Pastry Day... I've been exploring their bold coffees and after trying 8 of them in 8 weeks, they will give you a 1 lb bag of your favorite for FREE!  Today, I had a cup of the From Africa, To Africa blend... It is one of their RED coffees and for every cup sold they will contribute $0.05 to the Global Fund, which helps people living with HIV in Africa.  I enjoyed my grande cup with an apple bran muffin- YUM!

I'm going to need that bold boost to get me moving today... 2nd day of Spring Break and on my list of "to-do's" is to list some of my vintage treasures on Etsy & Ebay!  Here are a few items I picked up yesterday at Goodwill~

Darling little vintage blue-grey overnight case with keys included... I'll be listing this later today!;)

Groovy pair of vintage "Hyacinth" Purple Patent Buckle Shoes!!!
These will be on Ebay this week...

These are all mine!!  I just started collecting white latte bowls... imagine how excited I was to find this vintage one for $.49... And this sweet little scalloped dish is very old and would make a perfect soap dish... Thrilled to see it was only $.99!

Okay, the next few items you'll see, are also mine to keep... Sorry.   They will most likely be used in my "Craft Room", which is one of the projects mentioned yesterday.  Here is a photo of the room as it looks now... Hopefully, in the next few weeks, you'll see it progress into a more productive (less messy) place for creativity!

Some of the items here were bought on previous thrifting trips... The wire trays, the syphon seltzer bottle, egg basket, religous figurine,etc...  But yesterday, I picked up the lamp, roll of cork (to put into vintage frames for bulletin boards) and the 2 pair of reading glasses... I'm always losing mine- not bad for $1.99 a piece.;)
It's sunny and a warm 60 degrees here today- Hope it's nice wherever you are!

Rain, Rain Go Away....

Well, it's the first day of Spring Break and it doesn't look like the rain is going anywhere today... So, this afternoon will be spent reading these~

Earlier today I had an appointment and then ran some errands... Even had a chance to go to Goodwill!  I promise to post later what treasures I came home with...

Before heading back, I stopped by Meijer and picked up Cottage Style and Southern Living Magazines... Then when I returned, I found an LL Bean catalog and both Better Home & Gardens and Romantic Homes, waiting for me in the mailbox!!

and I almost forgot- yesterday, I finally was able to find Flea Market Style @ Sam's Club, of all places.

Do you tend to pick up your magazines at the grocery store checkout or do you subscribe?  If you have subscriptions- which ones do you subscribe to?

I subscribe to Romantic Homes, Midwest Living, Body & Soul, Better Homes & Gardens, Country Living and most recently I purchased a subscription through amazon for the French Nordic decor magazine~ Vakre Hjem & Interior.  I'm hoping it's as wonderful as Jeanne d'arc Living that I also purchase every month.  My first issue should arrive in May... anyone get this one??

Hope you are enjoying your afternoon~ whether you are basking in the sun or dancing in the rain!!!

HAPPY SPRING... To New Beginnings!!!

Irises sprouting and Lilacs budding...

cocoon?

First day of Spring and what beautiful weather we have been having here... Sunny and in the high 60's!  Yesterday, I took our dog for a walk down to the pasture (her favorite pastime) and she even decided she would take her first dip in the pond!

I've been hibernating a little myself this winter... haven't blogged in forever!

My plan is to start on a few new projects and continue my blog on a regular basis- My boots are on and I'm ready to dig in...

To New Beginnings... Springtime, Easter, butterflies, flowers, lady bugs, green grass and bumble bees... Refresh ~ Refurbish ~ RENEW!!!

Cracker Barrel Welcomes... Friends & Family!

This past Wednesday evening, I headed off to Cracker Barrel... I was lucky enough to be invited by an employee to their "Friends & Family" event, and was also told I could bring along a friend!

We not only received a 45% discount off our selections from the Old Country Store, but on our meal too.  Now, this was in addition to any other sales promotion that was in place... For example, I purchased 4 large jar Woodwick Candles~ all for $39.57!  They were buy 1, get 1 for 50% off.  Since I purchased 4 candles, this gave me 1 free and the others were $13.19 each.  I got some of my favorite scents along with a few new ones to try... Fireside, Applewood, Cider and Redwood. Love these candles with their "wood" wicks that crackle when they are lit.  I hope the recipients enjoy them as much as we do...

Cracker Barrel

It was a little overwelming... If I get invited back next year, I will go window shop a few days before so that I can map out my plan.

One of my purchases was a gift for Mr. SS... It was a case of Vintage Soda that includes Dad's Rootbear, Bubble Up, Nesbitt's Orange and NuGrape.  He will LOVE this!

Old 52 General Store

Also loaded up on Burt's Bee's lip balms for stocking stuffers, a dark grey heathered tee with black satin Christmas trees with tiny rhinestone lights, I plan to wear under a black puffer vest and the cutest set of 3 tealight holders in silver, gold & bronzed glitter with clear rhinestone snowflakes on the front (wished I had picked up more of those).

A wonderful evening that was finished off with a nice dinner and coffee afterwards... Tis the Season to enjoy company of Friends & Family (and of course, more shopping)!!!
